Trosky Castle

The Trosky Castle is perhaps the best-kown symbol of the Bohemian Paradise.
It was founded at the end of the 14th century by Čeněk of Vartenberk, during the Hussite wars it became the properry of Ota of Bergov. Later, the robber-knights Kryštof Šof of Helfenburk and Švejkar took hold of the castle.

Since 1455 the Trosky Castle belonged to the Kost estate of the Zajíc family of Hazmburk. The castle was also besieged by the army of Jiří of Poděbrady.
In 1559 the castle was attached to the estate of Hrubá Skála and after the Thirty Years´ War it became desolate.

I wish you a wonderful trip!
