Hruba Skala Chateau

The chateau The Rough Rock originated in the mid-14th-century and towers on two sandstone blocks.
Originally, it was called only The Rock but was renamed in the 17th century so as to distinguish the place from the nearby Malá Skála - The Small Rock.
The history of the castle is connected with the Wallensteins, the Smiřický family and other noble families but finally, in 1821, it became the property of the Lexa family of Aehrenthal. The castle has been rebuilt several times and its present appearance dates from 1859. After the Second World War it was converted into a recreation center.

I wish you a wonderful trip!
